Updated news and information for Program participants
THE CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM is funded through the 2009 calendar year, and the Center will be open as usual to serve participants, hold classes, and provide Tuition assistance benefits as we have since 1992. For those on layoff, the following information is provided to answer your numerous questions:
* If you are laid off but continue to accrue pension and seniority rights, you're considered an Eligible Participant and you'll be able to enroll in any course we offer at the Center as well as accessing your $1800 Tuition Assistance benefit.

* In special cases, Eligible Participants can access up to $3800 per calendar year for educational opportunities geared toward reaching or completing a specific educatioal goal. Call Mary at 735-8088 for more information.

* Eligible Participants currently enrolled in educational opportunities may continue without interruption till their Tuition Assistance amounts have been fully used.

* And, as always, the Center's computers, fax, copier, spiral binder, folding machine, laminator, shops and shop equipment are available for participant use during all open hours (classes have first priority).
2008-01-29 - Retiree Tuition Assistance
THOSE ANTICIPATING RETIREMENT in the near future are asked to remember they ARE eligible for Tuition Assistance benefits post-retirement in a limited way:
New retirees may utilize their $1800 Tuition Assistance benefit for ONE YEAR ONLY after retirement, and
Funding is very limited and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis only.
Please plan ahead to explore your educational options and to make the best use of this window of funding opportunity!
