Information on the Local And National Organization

Within the framework of each local site's contribution to the Career Development fund, Local Joint Committees representing management and labor apply for local program funds through labor and management representatives at the "corporate" level. This budget process is a local site's opportunity to plan courses of specific interest to the participants at our site, to request funds for individually-identified educational opportunities, and to request monies for local program operation, including site expenses, staffing and supplies.

Career Development Programs throughout the country are, by contract, governed by both labor and management representatives from the local level to the Advisory Board and the Government Board. The Institute for Career Development, the umbrella organization headquartered in Merrillville, Indiana, was created by contract to oversee all local programs, to provide communication of Governing Board decisions, and to provide guidance to local programs as they grow and expand their services to participants.
